Are You Worth Investing In?

Today I read a quote, "Your level of success, will rarely exceed your level of development, because success is something you attract by the person you become" (Jim Rohn).

In the early part of our life, personal development is a huge priority - we learn to walk, eat, communicate, get educated at school, we often go on to further education to get the qualifications for the career we choose. We then learn in the workplace, hopefully moving from a consciously incompetent state in the early weeks and months to an unconsciously competent state at some point down the line (I said hopefully!)

And its very easy to get "stuck" there. We may still have ambition, want further success, a promotion or career change, a different work/life balance - but to what extent are we investing in ourselves to make us an attractive investment to others? To what extent is your team investing, developing key skills for the future - and how are you encouraging and supporting that? We may have continuous professional development obligations, but to what extent are we finding ways to tick the box as opposed to seeking learning opportunities that truly engage, challenge and change us?

"If you want life to be different, you have to be willing to do something different first!" (Kevin Bracy). So that is my challenge for you (and me!) What could you focus on, that would ignite a spark for you, energise you, develop a skill and potentially open a new door? What person could you become, and what's stopping you from investing that time in yourself to own that change?

I'd love to help you - either individually or your team. A one to one session may give you that headspace to unlock where you want to be and identify steps that will get you there. And a team session may help unlock the motivation in those you depend on to invest in themselves - with the team reaping the benefits of that investment.
